General

What is CSL-T10?

CSL-T10 is a first-of-its-kind, city-based franchise amateur T10 cricket league, professionally managed and featuring 10 founding franchises.

Played over five action-packed days, the league showcases 25 high-intensity matches under floodlights using the iconic pink leather ball, delivering a premium, stadium-style cricket experience for amateur players and fans alike.

Franchise Ownership

How many franchises are available?

Season 1 of CSL-T10 offers only 10 Founding Franchise opportunities. These exclusive franchises will become the league's inaugural teams.

Who can own a franchise?

Franchise ownership is open to:

  • Individual investors
  • Groups of up to four individuals
  • Professional associations such as Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants and Architects
  • Companies and organizations
  • Service organizations such as Rotary, Lions and JCI
  • Business consortiums
What is the prize money?
  • Champions: ₹5,00,000
  • Runners-up: ₹3,00,000
What benefits do franchise owners receive?

Franchise owners receive an extensive range of commercial, branding, marketing and operational benefits.

When is the last date to apply?

The deadline for Franchise Interest Registration is 31 August 2026.

What is the minimum investment to own a franchise?

To participate in the franchise auction, applicants must first register their interest. The Franchise Base Price is:

₹3,00,000 Rupees Three Lakhs
  • Successful bidders must pay the remaining franchise fee within the specified timeline.
  • Unsuccessful bidders will receive a 100% refund of the Auction Participation Deposit paid.
Do I need to pay ₹3 Lakhs before the Franchise Auction?

No. You are not required to pay the full Franchise Base Price of ₹3,00,000 before the auction.

To participate in the Franchise Auction, you must:

  • Register your interest on or before 31 August 2026.
  • Pay a refundable Auction Participation Deposit of ₹1,00,000 before the registration deadline.

If you are the successful bidder, the balance franchise fee must be paid within the timeline specified by the CSL-T10 Organizing Committee.

If you are unsuccessful in securing a franchise, your ₹1,00,000 Auction Participation Deposit will be refunded in full, without deductions, within 10 working days after the auction.

Is GST applicable?

Yes. GST at 18% is applicable on the Franchise Fee.

Eligible franchise owners may claim applicable Input Tax Credit as per prevailing GST regulations.

What additional expenses should franchise owners expect?

Apart from the Franchise Fee, franchise owners are responsible for:

  • Two sets of official match kits consisting of jersey, trousers and cap for players and support staff through the CSL-T10 Tournament Committee
  • Development of a minimum 30-second team anthem, preferably AI-based
  • Practice sessions and net sessions
  • Optional practice jerseys
  • Food and accommodation for players during the tournament
How long does franchise ownership last?
  • Each franchise is awarded an initial three-season term.
  • The Retainership Fee for Seasons 2 and 3 will increase by 10% over the previous season's base price.
Can franchises renew after three seasons?

Yes. Existing franchise owners receive the Right of First Renewal for another three seasons, subject to:

  • No outstanding dues
  • Good disciplinary record
  • Acceptance of the revised franchise fee
Can a franchise be transferred?

Yes. Franchise ownership may be transferred only with prior written approval from the CSL-T10 Organizing Committee.

A transfer fee of 10% of the sale value plus applicable GST will apply.

Will the league expand?

Yes. The CSL-T10 Organizing Committee reserves the right to introduce additional city franchises in future seasons.

What does the organizing committee provide?

The CSL-T10 Organizing Committee manages:

  • Tournament operations
  • Match officials
  • Venue
  • Live scoring
  • Live streaming
  • Match scheduling
  • Basic medical support
  • Player auction
  • Trophy and awards
  • Player refreshments
  • Event promotion

Player Registration & Auction

What is the player registration fee?

Players must pay a registration fee of ₹2,500.

  • Fully refundable if not selected
  • Non-refundable once drafted by a franchise
  • Refunds for unsold players will be processed within 10 working days after the auction
How does the player auction work?

All registered players enter the official CSL-T10 Player Auction, where franchises build their squads.

Can franchises sign players directly?

Yes. Every franchise may directly sign:

  • One Icon Player — Mandatory
  • One Marquee Player — Mandatory
  • Team Owner as Player — Optional

All direct signings must be registered within the official player pool before the registration deadline.

Can players be retained next season?

Yes. Player retention will be governed by the official retention policy announced before each season.

Can franchises appoint support staff?

Yes. Each franchise must appoint:

  • Team Coach
  • Team Manager — the owner may also serve as Manager
What is the player auction purse?

Each franchise receives an auction purse of 10,00,000 Auction Points to assemble its squad, including Icon Player, Marquee Player and Team Owner Player allocations.

What are the retention values?
  • Icon Player: 1,00,000 Auction Points
  • Marquee Player: 75,000 Auction Points
  • Team Owner Player — Optional: 50,000 Auction Points

The Auction Points for the Icon Player, Marquee Player and Team Owner as Player will be deducted from the Player Auction Purse of each franchise.

A Team Owner who registers as a player can represent only his or her own franchise and is not permitted to play for any other team.

What is the squad size?

Each franchise must build a squad of 16 registered players through the player acquisition process.

In addition, every franchise may reserve up to two additional players from the official Unsold Players List as reserve players, in accordance with league regulations.

What is the team composition for each match?

Each franchise shall maintain a squad of 16 registered players. For every match, a 13-player match squad shall be selected.

  • Eleven players shall bat
  • Eleven players shall bowl and field
  • A minimum of two players must be rotated between the Batting XI and Bowling XI
  • Not all 13 players may perform both roles in the same match
  • The two players who leave the field after the first innings shall not re-enter unless specifically permitted by the Match Referee

This unique playing format promotes wider player participation while maintaining competitive balance.

Will every registered player get an opportunity to play?

Yes. Every registered player must play in at least one league match during the tournament.

How many matches are guaranteed?

Each franchise is guaranteed four league matches, with additional matches for teams progressing to the knockout stages.

Can a team name be changed?

Yes. The franchise name may be changed with committee approval. However, the allotted city name cannot be changed.

Can a franchise be terminated?

Yes. Franchise rights may be terminated for reasons including:

  • Breach of agreement
  • Financial default
  • Match-fixing or corruption
  • Actions that damage the reputation of the league
  • Defamatory statements against the league or organizers

Additional Franchise Questions

Can I own more than one franchise?

Yes. Subject to committee approval, an individual or entity may own up to two franchises.

Can investors from outside Kerala own a franchise?

Yes. Investors from outside Kerala are welcome, subject to approval by the Organizing Committee.

Can a franchise appoint celebrity ambassadors?

Yes. Celebrity ambassadors may be appointed with prior approval from the CSL-T10 Organizing Committee.

How can franchises assess player performance?

Registered players may upload their CricHeroes profile and YouTube match-performance videos to assist franchises during player evaluation.

Player Eligibility

Who can participate?

CSL-T10 is open to eligible amateur cricketers including employees from corporate organizations, businesses, government departments, educational institutions and various professions, subject to the league's eligibility criteria.

What are the player eligibility criteria?

To participate in CSL-T10, players must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be 30 years of age or above as on 31 October 2026
  • Must not have represented a State team, Senior or any Age Group category, after 1 September 2016
  • Must not have represented a District A Division team after 1 September 2021
  • Must not have represented a District B Division team after 1 September 2023
  • Players aged 45 years or above as on 31 October 2026 are eligible irrespective of previous State or District Division representation
How are players categorized?

Registered players are classified into three categories:

  • Category A: Former State Players — Senior and Age Group
  • Category B: Former University and District Players
  • Category C: All other eligible players
What are the Base Auction Points for players?
  • Category A: 40,000 Auction Points
  • Category B: 20,000 Auction Points
  • Category C: 10,000 Auction Points

These Base Auction Points represent the minimum bidding value for players during the CSL-T10 Player Auction.

Franchises may bid above the base value to acquire players, subject to their available Auction Purse.

Who are the eligible participants?

Eligible participants include:

  • Amateur cricket players
  • Corporate professionals such as Bankers and IT Professionals
  • Business owners and entrepreneurs
  • Former club cricketers
  • Government employees
  • Professionals such as Doctors, Engineers, Architects, Lawyers, Teachers and Merchant Navy officers
  • Former professional cricketers who satisfy CSL-T10 eligibility criteria

CSL-T10 is designed to bring together passionate cricket enthusiasts from all walks of life, providing them with a professionally managed franchise league experience.

Can amateur players from other states participate in CSL-T10?

No. However, both Malayali and non-Malayali amateur cricketers who possess a valid Aadhaar Card with a Kerala residential address are eligible to participate, provided they meet the league's other eligibility criteria.

To be eligible, players must:

  • Possess a valid Aadhaar Card with a Kerala residential address
  • Satisfy all player eligibility criteria and league regulations
  • Complete the official CSL-T10 player registration process
